Homeschool Grade Book/Report Card Generator (MS Excel)
The Values-Driven Family explores some of the foundational reasons for and
benefits of homeschooling using a common-sense, Biblically-based "good, better,
best" paradigm. See the "Risk Management" section of Part Four.
This nifty Microsoft Excel workbook is designed to input grades for a single student, either for a semester or for a whole year
(depending on the number of assignments).
There is a data input page for each assignment category, where you can list a brief descriptor of the assignment and input a numerical grade. A
report card is automatically generated with both numerical and letter grades.
There are only a couple of limitations with the report card that we know of: the number of assignments per page is fixed. Thus, if you are
recording grades for many assignments this will suffice for a shorter period (like a quarter) whereas if you grade fewer assignments you can
likely use it for a whole year.
Also, in order for the report card to do the necessary math and generate a grade, there must be grades listed for each category. In other words,
if on the setup sheet you say that quizzes count for 20% of your final grade but you have not yet had a quiz for the period, your final grade
will do the math as if the quiz input is zero. Thus, unless you have some data for each category, your grade report will not be accurate.
Note that the sheet is automatically set up to track class work, homework, quizzes and tests. If you do not have assignments in one of those
categories, you would simply input the weighted average as zero. However, this will increase the percentage weight of the other assignments.

Answers for New Christians (SalvationKids.com) and HelpforHomeschoolMoms.com
Ebook Excerpt from Answers for New Christians by Robin Khoury

Answers For New Christians helps young children understand the Christian faith. They gain assurance of salvation
and remember their salvation after they fill out the family keepsake section. Children love reading the twenty-six stories, coloring the
pictures, doing the Bible fill-ins and puzzles. Friends Disciple Dan, Baby BiC (Baby in Christ), and Mr. Owl make learning fun. You read, they
color. Robin Khoury, a homeschooling mom for sixteen years, wrote Answers For New Christians to help the children at her church.
It was hammered out on the anvil of real classroom experience—but Mrs. Khoury (aka Miss Robin) designed it for one-on-one instruction. (Do you
think that being a homeschool mom had anything to do with that?) So without knowing it, Miss Robin, a homeschooling mother, created a perfect
salvation unit study! See the rave reviews on her website from homeschooling mothers! www.salvationkids.com. 72 pp.
Robin also hosts HelpforHomeschoolMoms.com, a growing community hub where homeschool moms can find encouragement and
information.
